Workshop 15

This presentation will highlight gaps in medical education related to care for 2SLGBTQIA+ people in Atlantic Canada. Drawing on research conducted with medical students in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, Caroline Doucet (she/her) will discuss issues related to clinical preparedness, ongoing discomfort in certain care contexts, and the improvements needed in medical curricula to support more equitable and inclusive care.

Caroline Doucet is a third-year medical student at the New Brunswick Medical Training Centre. A proud Acadian and ally, she is committed to recognizing, valuing, and celebrating minority and vulnerable communities. She hopes to contribute to a more authentic, open, and safer future medical practice for all patients.
