Workshop 9

This presentation explores the connections between art, accessibility, disability, anti-capitalism, and resistance in New Brunswick. Drawing on their master’s thesis in art therapy, A Beaumont (they/them) will present conversations held with disabled art makers, along with a zine co-created with participants. The presentation will highlight concrete examples of inaccessibility and offer reflections for arts, community, mental health, and care-based spaces.

For accessibility and safety reasons, masks will be required for participants attending this activity.

A Beaumont is an artist, community organizer, and graduate student in art therapy (DTATI Candidate). Their community and academic work is grounded in intersectional principles such as disability justice, fat liberation, 2SLGBTQ+ resistance, and the importance of mutual aid, accessibility, and art.
